Luxury self-catering lodges in Scotland

Concentrating on the Scottish Highlands I am checking out special places to stay, namely luxury lodges, holiday cottages and unique boathouses to rent in Scotland but a journey that, on paper, should have taken around 4.5 hours is taking twice as long.

Spectacular Scottish landscapes

Scenery is breathtaking on the drive from Loch Ewe in the North West Highlands of Scotland, via Torridon, down to Port Appin on the West Highlands coast – 172 miles of jaw-dropping landscapes.

Unique places to stay in Scotland

Ashamedly selfish at times, I do need my own space so I’m looking for a unique or special place to stay in Scotland – a luxury self-catering cottage, lodge or boathouse maybe – from which the views will be mine to behold, and in which I can feel at home the minute I step through the door…

… and I’ve found some rather special places to stay, too.

Fred Bear joins Travel Writer Linda Jackson on her travels

Help with travel writing

Meet Fred Bear – he’s going to contribute to Travel Writer Linda Jackson’s Travel Blog.

When interviewed Fred says “I’m going to be a big help with Linda Jackson’s travel blog, she’s been wrapped up with all her Caribbean stuff, jetting around, so has neglected her general travel blog writer duties for a while”.

The travels of Teddy Fred Bear

Fred loves to travel, especially around Scotland and Devon in the UK, and around the islands of the Caribbean. He loves the good things of life so he tends to stay in luxury hotels around the world – enjoying the finest of cuisines, soaking up spectacular landscapes, and being pampered from head to toe at every opportunity.

Follow Fred Bear’s forays!

Fred Bear (a rather unfortunate name as it happens as he’s not got a lot of fur so is rather threadbare!) is now sorting out photos of his recent travels and is jotting down his thoughts on his very first trip to the Highlands of Scotland.

Special places to stay in Scotland

During his visit Fred acquired a strong taste for Whisky Mac at Port Appin and found a natural ‘adventure park’ at Torridon with so many activities that he just chilled out at his next stop, Poolewe – in accommodation complete with garden hot tub, and gypsy caravan kitchen.

Find out more about the loves and hates of Fred Bear by following Linda Jackson’s Travel Blog where, as guest travel blogger, he’ll be adding snippets about his personal bear hunt experiences while checking out great holiday destinations, adventures and activities, good places to eat and special places to stay.
